This is the short instructional video I created to support the lesson taught last week in Art Adventures. My students celebrated Art Beyond Sight Month by creating a contour drawing self portrait using Wiki Stix (wax covered string) to allow those of low vision to see the art with their hands.
Please read the next post below for more details and pictures featuring my Art Adventures students as they try to experience making and sharing art as if they were blind.
is a quick way for my students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders to find out about the amazing art happenings and experiences offered by a museum education.

Art Adventures: Texture Exploration
Every 2nd Saturday of each month I teach a children's art class at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens called Art Adventures for ages 6 - 12 years of age. This month we celebrated Art Beyond Sight month. My students learned to "see with their hands" in a touch tour of Art Connections to experience how someone of limited vision might see art.
