Every 2nd Saturday of each month I teach a children's art class at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens called Art Adventures for ages 6 - 12 years of age. This month we celebrated Art Beyond Sight month. My students learned to "see with their hands" in a touch tour of Art Connections to experience how someone of limited vision might see art.
After this experience, they returned to the studio where they created a wax string contour drawing of a self portrait. They were encouraged to return home with their artwork and share what they learned with a friend or family member.
